How to block & restore access to a server




This article assumes that you are already at the management home - if not please see the guide on how to get to that point.

There may be on occasions that you need to prevent people from accessing your server on any level, this can be simply that you need to take a set of websites totally offline, through to your server being subject to a denial of service attack.

The block access funtion will switch off the network port to the server, totally blocking access in any form. This also prevents you from accessing the server, therefore should be used carefully.

Firstly, select the option to block the server

Block access

You will now be presented with a warning

Block warning

Click OK only if you are happy to take your server offline.

Once you click OK, port access will terminate.

Restoring access

When you need your server online, as before navigate yourself to the management home page.

Simply select the restore button

Restore

Your server port will be opened and the server will be available for access.
